" We whizzed up the A6 motorway then wiggled the country lanes to Chablis. Suddendly, out of the blue, after ten minutes of enchanting countryside, I saw the stunning Serein Valley and the vineyard-covered hills in the distance. I found Billaud-Simon in a trice. Billaud-Simon is an impeccable producer, and I have bought wines from them every year for the past decade.
They are right at the top of the Chablis ladder and it was hard to decide which of their wines to buy, as they are all so pristine and elegant. In the end, I bought a 2001
Chablis
premier
Cru Mont de Milieu. "
