1996 Guide for Les Preuses 92. Obvious high top quality and at the paradise of the appellation. Vivacity and freshness, a tight texture for these Blanchots with wonderful controlled power, a sense of detail in the nose as in the mouth.

« Wine growers
since 1815 (Waterloo was not the only event this year ) the
Billaud are famous for their serious. Here is a Fourchaume
well in its boots, extending along the Grand Cru Coast. Thin
gold and floral, it hits the note well, it holds the road
weil and could almost appear as « a wine of thirst » as it
is such a pleasure. »

As for the 1996
edition, the selection committee chooses Les PREUSES
(coup de coeur that year in the 1992 vintage year). Last
year, it was VAUDÉSIR (coup de coeur as well, 1998
vintage year). Always far too much to choose in this
cellar. We say that VAUDÉSIR 99 is mentionned then Les CLOS
99 wins one star and will suit you very well. If Les
Preuses is left, pay it all your attention as well:
persistent on the fresh fruit, with a mineral presence,
it is an elegant and promising wine, which holds its
rank of Grand Cru.

tasted the cellar: Blanchots vieille vigne, cited, and
Preuses one star, find their place here. Vaudésir, a notch
above, meets the vote. So mineral it could almost be
chalky, followed by the immediate sensation of biting into
fruit. Very mature, hovering between peach and apricot, it
is a grand all-rounder.

left to age of course ".

" Founded
in the XIX century, this Estate covering 20 hectares bas
belonged to the same faimily since 1815. These VAILLONS 98
wines offer themselves up very quickly: their spontaneity
lies on pleasing vivaciousness,
a bouquet of citrus fruit
and a mineral note: enchantment for the year. "

" The
1998 Chablis that is not raised in casks is cited, but the
prize goes to this Cuvée Tête d'Or which recalls that in
the cemetery of Vézélay lies l'Ysée du partage de Midi.

many-flowering head giving off aromas of mint, white peach,
acacia. it does not seek for volume. Its primary intention
is to please through its roundness and perfumed persistance.
This bottle can be uncorked in year 2000 and will survive it
!
For memory a coup de coeur: Mont de Milieu 94 in 1997 ".

" On
almost equal ranking, and in 97 Vaudésir (soft and delicate)
we can recommend Blanchots vieille vigne (with fair wood
tones) and this one. Still very young,
it has the
agile beauty of the delicate Chablis wines. Aromas of
Spring flowers, with reminiscence of pear. It is nicely
shaped and should not be left to age.
Coup de coeur in
the 1996 edition for the same wine 92 fashion ".
