CFV D'OR 1997 award for all its 1996 vintage wines.
Domaine BILLAUD-SIMON: Unusually oacked, the Chablis wines on this Estate covering 20 ha on the best sectors of this appellation hold a clear, pure discourse, as close as possible to the nuances of each cru.
Eight of the wines produced by the BILLAUD-SIMON family emerged from our tasting ! Our coups de coeur go to the , 96 Chablis with its mineral, full fruit nose:

soft, a mouthful of flavour with a magnificient, typical lemon-tone finale. Among the 96 Premiers Crus the Montée de Tonnerre is highly strong, on hay and spice.
The Mont de Milieu, on pepper and white flowers, is tender and mature, with unchained freshness.  Finally the 96 Fourchaume, delicate, candied citrus fruit, is remarkably elegant".
